Our Ranger3 product is a 3D camera built on the principle of laser triangulation. The camera is an embedded device with a number of configuration parameters, e.g. exposure time, detection threshold and region of interest. All parameters in the camera have minimum and maximum values. Further, many of the parameter’s min/max values depend on one or several other parameters. Changing one parameter can lead to that one or more parameters min/max values also change, leading to that an already set parameter can be outside of its “new” min/max values.

The task of this thesis is to investigate different software approaches/frameworks for handling the dynamics of the device’ parameters. Solutions should be suitable for C++ implementation in an embedded Linux device. Depending on scope of the thesis a test implementation in a real 3D Camera is possible.

Prerequisites

C++, optimization algorithms
