Our vision sensor devices are today configured using mainly a web app. A web interface offers many advantages but lacks certain functionality, for example firmware upgrades, file management, emulator etc. The users therefor must resort to using additional desktop apps to complement the web app.

The goal in this thesis is to find and investigate ways to integrate the web and native apps in a unified solution. The master thesis work focuses on the following:

  • Find the limits of web applications
  • Research ways to leverage advantages of web interface while maintaining native functionality.

 Prerequisites

You will benefit from experience in the following fields:

  • Web development (e.g. JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, React)
  • Native desktop app development (e.g. electron, WPF, WinUI, JavaFX, Xamarin, React Native, Chrome Embedded Framework)
