R&D Manager, Robot Guidance Vision Systems

The Industry is becoming more and more automated and there are high needs for smart and intuitive vision systems that are easy to integrate and operate. We work on a global market with an ever increasing need for vision guided robot applications. Simply put: We put eyes on robots.
As the Head of R&D in our Robot Guidance team you will be main responsible for the R&D team, both personnel and our systems performance and development.
We work close to our customers with an agile mindset. As supplier of Robot Guidance systems we also rely on close cooperation and good fit and matching supply of technology (sensors, algorithms, platforms) from within SICK. Here the R&D manager is the driver and key person for cooperation success and to ensure we have the right tools in our development toolbox.

Profile
We seek you that are a good team player that enjoys working in smaller teams with a big global network.
As team manager you love to coach others into success. You must be able to work under own responsibility and plan your own and the teams work based on project plans and market input from the Product Management side. As R&D team manager we see that you also take the role as project manager for part of our development projects (driving the projects internally to ensure delivery according to specifications). You have a pragmatic and solution oriented mindset. A satisfied customer and sales growth are shared motivation factors for the complete RG team. You are motivated by seeing things finally working and that customers challenges get solved. You have a large interest in Machine Vision and automation technology in general.
You have a bachelor or master degree, or a competence level comparable with that.
Good knowledge in English is necessary as well as interest and ability for international travels. It is meriting if you have worked as manager before and if you have previous experience from project management as this will also be part of your responsibility as Head of R&D Robot Guidance systems. Programming experience is not a must but meriting.
