For more than 35 years, our team at SICK Linköping has successfully developed and delivered software for technically leading products within the field of 2D and 3D vision, as well as system solutions for i.e. robot guidance and quality control.
We are looking for a curious and quality-focused tester to join our software team being responsible for and developing SICK's world-leading 3D cameras based on laser triangulation technology.
About the team
The team is responsible for everything from the embedded software in the camera, to the API and configuration GUI on the receiving side. We are also involved in the qualification of new and updated hardware together with our German colleagues at the head office. Everyone in the team has their own set of camera and peripherals on their desks for realistic testing and for quick feedback on what they have developed. We work in teams that are characterized by low prestige, "helping each other" spirit and a will to continuously improve. We work in an agile way in a cross-functional team with Continuous Integration (CI) and a high degree of automated testing. Our development environment spans many areas, from small test boxes that stimulate the inputs on the camera, to tests of the configuration GUI. Testing is a fundamental part of the team's development work, and we now want to further expand the team's test focus.
About the job
You will work in close collaboration with the team's developers, and together with our test responsible you have a focus on ensuring the quality of our software and test environment. You will contribute in many different places within a wide variety of tasks in the area of testing. You will plan which tests to perform for releases, write test cases, work with test automation as well as with maintenance and installation of test computers with associated hardware.
You need
To succeed in the role you need to be passionate about testing and have an ability to see the system from a customer perspective. Good programming skills are also essential where you are familiar with the languages C#, C++, Java and Python. Your detective skills will come in handy in many occasions in troubleshooting.
