Meet Sogand Talebi, a Software Developer in the SEC300 application development team at SICK Linköping. She works on building software for a modular low cost camera system used in machine vision applications, where precision and reliability are key parts of everyday development.

As she approaches four years at SICK, her work continues to sit at the intersection of software engineering, system design, and practical industrial applications.

Who she is and her role at SICK

Sogand holds a Master of Science in Bio electrical Engineering and works as a Software Developer in the SEC300 application development team.

The team is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing software for the SEC300 camera, supporting a wide range of machine vision applications in industrial environments.

What she is working to grow within

One area Sogand is actively working on is developing a stronger sense of the bigger picture. She describes herself as detail oriented, and is now focusing on connecting those details into a more holistic understanding of systems and products.

For her, this is important both in her professional work and in how she approaches complex problems in general. She emphasizes that without connecting the dots, it becomes difficult to understand the full impact of what is being built.

What motivates her in her work

For Sogand, motivation comes from both technical development and the people she works with. She values being part of a small team that actively explores new ways of developing software and improving architecture.

In a recent retrospective, she felt a strong sense of progress in how the team is shaping a software architecture that they believe in, which will serve as a foundation for future products.

A moment that meant a lot

One moment that stood out for her was the support she experienced from colleagues during a personally difficult time.

“As an Iranian, it has been a truly difficult time for me, and seeing that the company and most importantly my colleagues genuinely care and try to understand makes me really happy and grateful. To me, SICK Linköping feels like a family.”

Life outside work

Outside of work, Sogand enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, biking, watching movies, and being with her family.

These activities give her a balance to her work in software development and allow time to recharge and reflect.

Looking ahead

Sogand continues her journey at SICK Linköping with a strong focus on both precision and perspective. Her work on the SEC300 camera reflects the kind of engineering that turns detailed software development into reliable systems used in real industrial environments, while she continues to develop a broader system level understanding.
