With passion for Vision Sensoring technology

Meet Johan Melander, head of the 3D camera group with a great passion for Vision Sensoring technology, who talks about the phenomenon Tech Talks at SICK Linköping.

At SICK Linköping we have created our own version of “Ted Talks” which we call “Tech Talks”, a short lecture where we talk about an interesting topic. “Any of us who works here can invite for a Tech Talk. It has become very popular, with great support and exciting discussions” says Johan, head of the 3D camera group.

Tech Talks are a complement to the planned competence development and is completely driven by our employees at SICK Linköping. “We are a group of people with a great interest in technology who like to share knowledge with each other. Tech Talks are an excellent way to do so”, Johan continues.

Johan held one of our latest Tech Talks and then talked about Semiconductor Technology. “This is an exciting technology that has enabled extreme societal development for several decades. I thought more people should get more knowledge about this and invited to a successful Tech Talk”, says Johan.

However, this was definitely not Johan’s last Tech Talk. “No, there will be a new Tech Talk soon, on the topic “CMOS Image Sensors – drivers and enabler”. Vision Sensoring and semiconductor technology are my areas of expertise and I like to share knowledge. Technology monitoring is a natural part of my job and I am constantly collecting interesting facts that I also think others would be interested in”, Johan concludes.

Do you also want to get started with Tech Talks at your company? Here are Johan’s best tips:

  • Find simple forms for structure
  • Get started and try, modify along the way
  • Let it grow organically with the help of your colleagues
  • Just do it!
